This is a quick tutorial on how I make vintage style flower stamens (I think that's what they are called). There are probably lots of other tutorials out there, but this is just how I worked out how to achieve a look that I wanted for my flower centers. Hope this is helpful and thanks for watching.

This is a tutorial I was asked to do about 3 months ago but have only now got around to uploading it. There are a few tutorials out there on how to makes these, for instance Fiona from Jennings644 and Tonya from Psychomoms have done tutorials if you want to have a wee look at those too. This is a tutorial on my version of the Calla Lilly. They literally take a few minutes to make and they are so pretty on cards or any projects you are working on. And dont forget, they can be done in any size you want, as long as you have a heart punch or cut out big enough to make them.....the sizes are endless. The ones I sent to Fiona for her birthday ended up having stickles painted onto them. It made them look so much prettier. Enjoy the video and thanks so much for watching. Lee xx

This shows the cytoplasic streaming that occurs in the stamen hair cells of a Tradescantia flower. These are beautiful cells, each with a large aqueous vacuole (up to 90% the cell's volume) containing a blue pigment called anthocyanin. Each cell undergoes fairly rapid cytoplasmic streaming or cyclosis. The first sequence has two small cells located along the tip of the hair with their spherical nuclei suspended in the center of the vacuole by cytoplasmic strands. The second sequence has the nucleus located on one end with cytoplasmic strands transversing the large vacuole. The third sequence has the nucleus appressed against the upper left of the cell. Very active movement can be seen translocating along the peripheral cytoplasm. Strands can be seen traversing the vacuole in this through-focus series. Each flower has hundreds of the stamin hairs and each flower only last one day.
